Interstate 10 Katy Freeway Photo Report
November 23, 2008
The expansion of Interstate 10 west, the Katy Freeway, was dedicated on October 28, 2008, after four years of construction.

The Katy freeway is among the widest freeway corridors in the world, ranking with elite freeways such as the Dan Ryan in Chicago (I-90/94), the New Jersey turnpike (I-95), Route 401 in Toronto Canada, and the San Diego Freeway (I-5) in Orange County, California. The Katy Freeway has continuous high-capacity frontage roads with at least three frontage lanes in each direction, making the Katy Freeway perhaps the most distinctive megafreeway with its frontage roads, main lanes, toll lanes, and interchanges.
